about the End of Life Journey

Introducing Kate Ott and Mindful EOL Services

Mission Statement:

My mission is to raise global awareness about end-of-life planning and its benefits, ultimately empowering individuals to have meaningful conversations with their loved ones and healthcare providers, make informed decisions on their final wishes, and have a peaceful and dignified transition.as they navigate their end of life journey.

Our Values:

Our Values are grounded on the belief that all individuals, regardless of their background or beliefs, deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion during their final days. By incorporating non-religious spiritual practices, we can provide a sense of comfort and support for those approaching end of life, while also honoring their unique identities and experiences.

Inclusivity Policy Statement:

We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for individuals of all backgrounds, and working towards understanding and respecting each person’s journey towards the end of life. Through our non-religious spiritual practices, we aim to provide holistic care that addresses the emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of those we serve. With a commitment to inclusivity and empathy, we can create a more compassionate and supportive end-of-life experience for all.

The LOVE Model for Conscious EOL Services

To provide the highest standard of holistic end of life care, I developed the four step LOVE model as a guide for end of life Doulas.
Through the LOVE model, holistic and compassionate care is ensured during this vulnerable and sacred time.

Step #1: The first step in the LOVE model is to Listen which involves actively hearing and understanding the needs, fears, and desires of the individual facing their end of life journey.

Step #2: Next, we Observe, paying close attention to their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being in order to provide personalized care and support.

Step #3: Validation is the third step, where we acknowledge and validate the
individual’s experiences, feelings, and thoughts, creating a safe space for them to
express themselves openly and honestly.

Step #4: Finally we Empower the individual to make decisions about their care, legacy, and final wishes, ensuring they have means and control over their end of life journey.
